The AJMS Open Access Policy explains the Gold Open Access model of the Asian Journal of Managerial Science (AJMS), including immediate access to published research, copyright and licensing, repository rights, digital preservation, author charges, discounts, refunds, and editorial independence.

1. Open Access

Open Access (OA) is the practice of making peer-reviewed scholarly content freely and permanently available online without subscription, registration, or pay-per-view barriers. AJMS follows the Gold Open Access model, under which the final published Version of Record is made immediately and permanently available on the journal website. Readers may access, read, download, copy, and share published articles free of charge in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

2. Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) Open Access Guidelines

The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI), publisher of AJMS, follows established principles of transparent scholarly publishing. AJMS provides clear information concerning peer review, publication ethics, copyright, licensing, Article Processing Charges, repository sharing, and access to published content. Following completion of the journal’s Copyright Form and publication of the article, copyright in the published Version of Record transfers to CRI under the journal’s current copyright policy.

3. Benefits of Open Access Publishing

  • Wider dissemination to researchers, practitioners, institutions, students, and the public.

Authors whose research is subject to specific institutional or funder licensing mandates should confirm before submission that the AJMS licensing model satisfies those requirements. The journal’s current licence terms are explained in the Copyright & Licensing Policy.

All AJMS articles are distributed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. Under this licence, users may copy and redistribute the unchanged published article in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given and the original AJMS publication is acknowledged. The licence does not permit commercial use or distribution of modified, adapted, translated, remixed, transformed, or derivative versions without additional permission from the copyright holder.

For articles published in 2026, the copyright and licence notice is: © 2026 Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI). This is an open access article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence. For later articles, the copyright year should match the actual year of publication.

6. Repository Policy

Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, and published Version of Record in institutional, subject, or other appropriate scholarly repositories without an embargo, subject to the Copyright & Licensing Policy. When depositing or sharing the Version of Record, authors should retain the complete bibliographic citation, DOI or permanent link, CRI copyright notice, licence information, and acknowledgement of AJMS and CRI as the original journal and publisher. The Version of Record must remain unchanged.

7. Digital Preservation

AJMS supports long-term access to published content through digital preservation arrangements, including the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). Preservation is intended to support continued access to the scholarly record in the event that the journal website becomes unavailable.

8. Gold Open Access and Article Processing Charge

AJMS supports its Gold Open Access publishing services through an Article Processing Charge (APC). The current APC is INR 3,000 for authors based in India and USD 50 for authors based outside India. No manuscript submission fee is charged. The APC is payable only after a manuscript has been accepted following editorial assessment and peer review. 9. Fee Waivers and Discounts

AJMS provides a 50% APC discount for corresponding authors from Research4Life Group A countries, subject to the current Research4Life eligibility classification at the time of submission. Any other waiver or discount offered by CRI in an exceptional case must be confirmed in writing before payment and remains separate from editorial decision-making.

10. Other Charges

AJMS does not charge authors additional editorial processing, language editing, colour, submission, page, membership, or other supplementary author-facing fees beyond the applicable APC described in the current journal policy.

11. Refund of Article Processing Charges

An APC refund may be considered when an error attributable to the publisher prevents publication of an accepted manuscript or when multiple APC payments are mistakenly made for the same manuscript. Refunds are normally not issued when an author withdraws a manuscript after APC payment and publication processing has commenced, or when a published article is retracted because of plagiarism, copyright infringement, data fabrication, research misconduct, or another author-related breach of publication ethics. Approved refunds are normally processed within 14 days, subject to payment-provider and banking processing times.

12. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and remain independent of APC payment, waiver or discount status, sponsorship, advertising, subscription revenue, or other financial considerations.
